Querari’s excellent recent run of juvenile successes continued unabated when his two-year-old daughter Herrin scored a runaway victory in the Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes at Fairview.

Allan Greeff’s charge pounced at the 300m mark and strode away to come home unharassed, leaving her rivals trailing by more than three lengths at the line.

Fresh off a fine third in a male-dominated Listed East Cape Nursery three weeks earlier, the newly-minted stakes winner made a mockery of her 16-1 starting price and clearly relished the step up to 1400m.

Herrin is one of a dozen juvenile winners sired by Querari this season and was bred by Wilgerbosdrift/Mauritzfontein. She is out of the Gr.3-placed Fort Wood mare Erin, a half-sister to Gr.1 Cape Guineas winner Flight Alert (National Assembly), while grandam Beltel’s siblings include the champion juvenile and champion sprinter Senor Santa (Northern Guest).
