Maine Chance Farms’ regally bred young stallion Erupt gained yet another update to his impressive pedigree when his two-year-old half-brother Visible Charm (by Invincible Spirit) got off the mark, when victorious at Nottingham on Friday.
Trained by Charlie Appleby, Visible Charm justified his 11-8 favouritism status by running out a comfortable one and a quarter length winner of the MansionBet EBF Maiden Stakes over six furlongs.
Visible Charm, a 575, 000 guineas buy from the 2018 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale, had previously finished second and third respectively on his only two previous starts.
A son of Invincible Spirit, Visible Charm is not only a half-brother to dual G1 winner Erupt but he is also a half-brother to Listed Pretty Polly Stakes winner Marie De Medici. The latter is dam of multiple G3 winner Local Time (by Invincible Spirit) and Wings Of Time (by Invincible Spirit), with the latter making it two wins from just four starts when landing a one mile handicap at Newmarket recently.
Erupt, one of 40 G1 winners sired by outstanding stallion Dubawi (also sire of the hugely promising young sire Night Of Thunder), won five times with his victories including scores in the G1 Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris, G1 Pattison Canadian International and G3 Prix du Lys.
From the same family as top sires Holy Roman Emperor (who had a group double at the Curragh on Saturday), Flying Spur and Encosta De Lago, Erupt was also runner up in the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.
